The Federal Reserve has signaled a readiness to reduce interest rates, with the timing dependent on economic indicators. However, recent inflation data suggests that any rate cuts in May or June are unlikely, as inflation has surpassed expectations for the second consecutive month, with Consumer Price Index (CPI) rising by 0.4% month over month. This follows last week's robust employment figures. Consequently, bond yields have climbed, with 10-year yields increasing by 15 basis points this week. Market sentiment has adjusted accordingly, now anticipating two rate cuts this year, down from three, with the first expected in September.

Pinterest has identified “Western Gothic” as a top interior design trend for 2024. “Western” and “Gothic” may seem like a mismatch—but a melding of the two aesthetics also may come naturally to fans of the dark, moody cowboy drama “Yellowstone.”

Western Gothic is a combo of dark color palettes with vintage western and Americana motifs. The 2024 Pinterest Predicts report, which is based on global search data of more than 482 million users, identifies a rise in online searches for styles like “western gothic,” “western bedding ideas,” “vintage Americana” and “country room ideas.”

"Know the equipment you like that keeps you motivated, so you're not wasting money," says Megan Kopka, a certified financial planner at Apprise Wealth Management in Wilmington, North Carolina, "so [the equipment] doesn't become a clothes rack."

For some, equipment can mean dumbbells and a strength training machine, which range from $1,000 to $6,000 or more. For others, a yoga mat and a few light weights, which can total less than $100, may be sufficient.

Mortgage interest rates have been headlining financial news segments for several years running. Much of that news has been met with less than open arms, as rates have risen dramatically in recent years, an increase that is related to the ripple effect of the Covid-19 pandemic. Seventy-eight percent of homeowners say they plan to declutter and organize their garages in 2024 to find more space, tackle day-to-day projects, or pursue their creative ambitions.
