We’re Shawn Layton and Jimmy Hendrickson—Florida natives, longtime Central Florida residents, and the team

behind The Home Boys | SERHANT. Before beginning our real estate journey, we spent decades building careers centered around creativity, leadership, and exceptional customer service. Shawn earned his degree in Modern Dance and spent 15 years as a performer and dance instructor before transitioning into visual merchandising leadership with Macy’s. Jimmy began working at Publix while attending college and built a successful 17-year career in customer service management.

Although our professional paths were different, they taught us many of the same lessons: listen carefully, work hard, treat people with kindness, and always deliver an experience that feels personal.

After purchasing our first home together in 2009, Jimmy began dreaming about creating a business that would help others experience that same feeling of belonging. In 2017, we took a leap of faith, left our established careers, and turned that dream into what is now The Home Boys. Since then, we’ve had the privilege of helping more than 200 families buy and sell homes throughout Central Florida. Our business has always been built on relationships—not transactions. We believe everyone deserves to feel welcomed, represented, and completely comfortable throughout their real estate journey. Many of our clients become lifelong friends, and that is one of the greatest rewards of what we do.

Outside of real estate, you’ll often find us traveling, hiking, dancing, working in the yard at our Winter Park home—affectionately known as Chateau Shimmy—or giving back to the local community. Shawn’s love of dancing even inspired our signature “Shimmy,” which has made its way into listing videos, closing celebrations, and plenty of unforgettable client moments. For us, home is more than a property. It’s where life happens, relationships grow, and people feel free to be themselves.
